I have not had time to sit down and put my thoughts into writing in a month! I have been able to accomplish so much over the last month, which makes me a very happy bride. Let's see... I booked a videographer, a makeup artist, a florist, had my bridal shower, started researching invitations and asked my grandmother to be our officiant!
My biggest to do's right now are getting my save the dates finished (I know they've taken me 3 months to finish) and pick out my wedding invitations. I know which invites I want, but they are outside of my budget. I think if you're ever going to splurge, it should be on yourself and your wedding so maybe I'll go for it.

If you know me, you know I love sending cards. Whether its for your birthday, a holiday or just to say hello, I love sending cute cards to say I'm thinking of you. Well today I read on the blog 100 layer cake, that http://www.peach-press.com/ is giving away these adorable bride and groom greeting cards. I went on their website to see if I could purchase them, but they aren't available yet so I'm not on a mission to find bride/groom greeting cards. I could leave Mr. Groom messages all the time saying "from the bride!" In case he forgot ;)
I'm getting very excited to go home... only 6 more days! My wonderful mother just booked 2 appointments with makeup artists so that helped me out a lot. I've really wanted to use airbrush for my wedding, but the more I think about it, the more I want to stay more natural. On another note... I caught up on a lot of my blog reading today and I have an inspirational board that has provided yet again more ideas for the big day.
I absolutely love the green martini with the pink backgroun. Since we are doing vinatinis, I wonder if I can lay down some pink fabrice so the green of the martini will pop like this picture. Another thing I took from this board was the green tie. I've been thinking this whole time that I want to go with pink ties for the groom, but maybe I'll do green. I'll have to take a closer look at that once the girl's dresses come in.
The weekend is here and I must...really I must... get a lot done. Mr. Groom has a work function on Saturday that he needs my help with, but when I'm not helping him, its wedding planning time. I'm putting this in writing so that I feel guilty if I don't get it done: I will finish my save the dates this weekend! I also need to make an appointment with a french bakery in Paso to discuss my dessert bar. I need to pack for home, which consists of doing a ton of laundry and dry cleaning. Most important thing I need to do is exercise. I am only 2 pounds away from my original goal and i know its going to take a lot of work so I better get my butt in that gym.
TGIF!

With almost 6 months left to plan and only one more visit home before the big day, I'm feeling a little anxious. To some, 6 months might seem like a long time, but since I work at an accounting firm, I will be out of commission from Feb 1- April 15th. This means I better get most of the planning done before Feb 1. I'll be leaving for California next Thursday and I need to make a few appointments before I get there. I would like to set up an appt with a makeup artist, the bakery, the officiant and purchase all my vases for the centerpieces. Other things I need to accomplish include: finishing my save the dates (I have about 40 left to do), get Mr. Groom's finger sized to order his ring, and to get a hold of my florist to finalize the flowers.
Besides stressing myself out worrying if ill get everything done, I'm so excited because the reason I'm going home is to attend the wedding of my dear friend Kim. I also will be celebrating my bridal shower that my wonderful mother is putting on for me. It will be a great week and lots of fun events, but I do wish Mr. Groom could come :( This will be the first Thanksgiving we will be spending apart. I've already planned a thanksgiving meal for just the two of us the wednesday before I leave home. We'll be able to have our own little mini turkey day.

Finally, after months of research and planning, we have decided on our honeymoon. We are going to go to the ROYAL in playa del carmen. 8 nights in a presidential suite! We'll have a private pool on our penthouse balcony and there are multiple restaurants which was important to me. I'm soo excited about our choice and I think all the hard work paid off. We are really looking forward to our honeymoon and are so excited it is finally planned. Thank you Mr. Groom for planning it :)
I've been so busy I forgot to blog! So what have I been busy doing? First off, working :( We had a deadline last week which kept me a very busy bee. Also, I'm co-planning my friend's bachelorette party which is taking place this weekend in NYC. I'm very excited, but its been a lot of work.
As far as wedding planning, I've definitely checked some tasks off my list. Mr. Groom and I went to Target & Crate and Barrel this weekend to register for wedding gifts. We went in thinking we didn't really need much since we've lived together for 3 years+, but left with 2 very nice, long lists! We also decided to register at Williams Sonoma. I wanted a nice selection of both affordable and wish list types of items. I'm still working on the lists, but they are pretty much 95% done. I also was able to finish 10 more save the dates this weekend. At this rate, I wont be done until next month! Mr. Groom has taken charge on our honeymoon and is working with a travel agent now.

Today's Friday (Wednesday) Inspiration comes from this awesome pink collage. Since I was just in Paris, I'm completely inspired by this romantic, pink theme. The china in the lower right hand corner would look so pretty in my wedding, but I can't afford to put expensive china in my wedding :) I'm happy with the plates we chose: simple, square and white.
Just got back from Paris and I'm very tired. We had such a great time visiting family and running around being tourists. One thing that we got to do was go look at awesome French Silverware. We went to the same store that my parents got their silver from 30 years ago for their wedding. I think I've decided I like this one the best! Its simple, yet has wonderful detail on the bottom. Although Christophe may be nice, it means more to me to get my silver from the same place as my parents.

I'm off to Paris tonight for a long weekend with my family. I wish Mr. Groom could come, but I've decided that maybe we'll go to Paris for our 1 year anniversary - how romantic. We wont have much time this trip to site see anyway, but it'd still be nice if he was coming. I hopefully will come back with a lot of inspiration for the wedding. Au Revoir!

Today's Friday inspiration comes from Jubilee Events. I really want pink shoes for my wedding and these shoes are fabulous! Maybe I can find some awesome shoes in Paris so they can not only be pink and fantastic, but Parisian.

We booked our photo booth yesterday. We ordered it from California Photo Booth. I love that we're bringing in a fun element into the wedding. We'll have Chloe (our photographer) to take nice, professional pictures, then we'll have the photobooth for hilarious candids. I've decided since I love dress up, I'm going to put a box of costumes in the photobooth so people can have even more fun taking photos. You're allowed to take unlimited photographs and I get a copy of every picture taken for my guest book. Things are kind of coming together - or atleast getting booked.
I'm up early this morning since Mr. Groom works at 6am on tues/thurs. I like to wake up with him at 5 and go work out after he leaves. I enjoy working out early in the morning... it gets me energized for the day. Now if I could only lose some weight that would make these workouts a little more enjoyable. Atleast I'm semi-productive this morning, emailing my mom some old photos for our slideshow.

I am in love with this outfit I found for a ring bearer on applemoonphotography's blog. Maybe it is just the cute little boy, but this outfit is adorable. I think it would be perfect for my wedding because it will be hot so the boys can wear shorts and its easier for them to maneuver in.
I accomplished so much today:
- Created an excel spreadsheet of honeymoon destinations, prices, amenities, etc to show to Mr. Groom's parents
- Signed the contract for our photographer!! Her name is Chloe Murdoch and she is a fun and an artistic photographer. I'm very excited to have her photograph our memories. Follow her blog! She has a great personality and her blog portrays that very well.
- Created a registry at honeymoonwishes.com. We want to provide our guests multiple options.
- Found a company to provide us our photo booth.
- Scanned and uploaded 60+ pictures to add to our slideshow
- Completed our mini website for theknot.com
- Added about 20 new addresses for our guest list
- Oh, and I worked today :)
It only took 3 1/2 months, but Mr. Groom finally picked his groomsmen. He chose five and I'm really happy for his reasoning in choosing 5. He wanted our processional to be balanced so he thought five would be great because the best man and MOH could walk together and then 1 boy for every 2 girls. Since he didn't want 9 like I'm having, this will work out super and it'll make the guys look like pimps! Even though I love things to be balanced, I think Mr. Groom is making me see outside of the box a little. It doesn't have to be perfectly balanced (with nine on both sides), but we can make it balanced in our own way. I love our bridal party and I'm thrilled to have all the wonderful people take part in our big day.
Since Mr. Groom and I are trying to save money these days for the wedding, we are not going out to eat as much (or at all). I decided last night that I would make our own surprise date night. Since we love sushi, I went and bought a couple sushi rolls from a local restaurant (I went to Pomegranate Cafe becuase I had a 10% off coupon). I saved money by not eating at the restaurant and having to pay a tip and since I made extra food at home, I only bought a couple rolls whereas we'd buy 7 if we ate there. I bought some sake ($13 for a bottle instead of $10 for a couple shots) and I made asian chicken with rice when I got home. Mr. Groom works late these days so I had everything set up when he got home on little white square plates and I finally used our sushi set that I've had for years. He loved it and it was a nice "going out at home" dinner. We ended up having too much food: salad, 3 sushi rolls, chicken, rice and miso soup! It was a lot of fun and even romantic.

Since I was out of town last week I didn't have much time to read up on many blogs. I spent some time today catching up and read through approximately 300 posts. I found an awesome wedding/color board that not only is pink, but French. I love how classy the look is. I might steal the pink meringue idea for my dessert bar. I found this image from Masterpiece Wedding Blog. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Mr. Groom and I will be going to the Maryland Football game (GO TERPS!) and taking it easy.

I had such a wonderful time down in southern california yesterday. My mom and I woke up at 4:30am and drove down to la to meet up with my cousin Shawna at the LA flower market. We spent a couple hours from 9am - 11ish picking out gorgeous flowers that I want to use for my wedding. We found the flowers for my bridesmaids bouquets, my bouquet and found the materials we need for the centerpieces. I can't believe how much we got accomplished. Shawna was a huge help and I think we came up with a beautiful combination of flowers. After finishing everything for the flowers, we headed down to Newport Beach and met up with 6 of my great girlfriends. Such a fun night and a wonderful trip down south.
How great it feels to be in California! I got a lot done today. I couldn't have done it with out my mom though, she's a trooper. We reserved all of our linens, tables, chairs, silverware, plates, etc for the wedding. Gosh, I did not realize how much stuff we needed to rent! We went and checked out two photographers also. Photography is probably the most important element of the wedding I care about besides the groom. I want to make sure I make the right decision because that will be my memories for a lifetime. We went out to dinner with our great family friends tonight. I forgot how wonderful it feels to be surrounded by such great friends and family. I love being home and makes me miss it too. It makes me even more excited for the wedding though. I can't wait to have both of our families together and all our great friends for our special day.
Tomorrow will be another busy day. My mom and I are off to LA to meet up with my cousin Shawna to visit the Flower Market. I'm sure all the beautiful flowers will inspire me. After LA we are going to Newport Beach to see more friends. Some of them I haven't seen in over a year... I can't wait to see them all!

We just got our engagement photos back and I love them! Kristin Brito did such a great job! Visit her website if you live in the Maryland area and would like to book her for a photo shoot. I couldn't be happier with her patience during the shoot, her great job editing the photos and how prompt she was at sending the pics to me. smiles all around for me! Here's a little taste...
Another item to check off my list - I sent my bridesmaid packages out today! Feels good to be able to check a few things off my list a week. Our engagement photo shoot went really well yesterday. It was so much fun and I hope we got some good ones! I was really happy that I looked online at probably 100 blogs to see different types of engagement shoots beforehand. It was nice to offer up a couple different ideas as well as give us some ideas for outfits and backgrounds. My cousin is doing some editing and is sending me the pictures in the next couple days... I can't wait! I just ordered a photo book on snapfish of all our engagement pictures and wedding dress shopping. I figure, I should probably get the photos in albums quickly, otherwise I can see myself putting it off until I get back from my honeymoon. The photobooks on snapfish allowed me to make it look like I was scrapbooking, but a lot less time consuming!
I was supposed to finish my save the dates last night, but that didn't happen. I did buy photo paper and ink for my printer though. Today I'll buy the rest of the supplies and hopefully get some of the cards printed. If I dont finish in the next couple days, it wont get done until after I get back from cali. It's not a huge deal, but I'd like to get them mailed as soon as possible.

I woke up this Saturday morning at 7:15 am (I guess my body knows what time I have to get up for work) and as I was checking my phone to see what time it was and I saw I had an email. I looked to see if it was spam or something interesting to read and the title of the email was "9 months to go." It was from theknot.com. I instantly was wide awake and in the gym by 7:30. Holy crap, only 9 more months. You might think I'm crazy, but 9 months will go by quicker than I know it -- (stop and smell the roses Mari!!)
So after doing some brainstorming on the treadmill this morning, I'm now looking over my checklist provided by the knot and reviewing my outline provided by myself. I leave for California on Wednesday and I'm set to meet with one photographer, but I'd like to have a couple more lined up as well. The best way to find vendors is through referrals, so I'm checking out real weddings and reading over some California blogs to see what they have to say.
I should probably not be listening to techno music this morning, but it's what's playing on pandora and its getting me hyped to get stuff done today. With a slight intermission today to attend Mr. Groom's company banquet, I'll be back on the computer this afternoon. Engagement photos are set for tomorrow and I think the weather is going to be nice to us and let the sun shine for a couple hours. My lovely cousin and bridesmaid is making the trip down to DC to take some shots of us in front of our nation's capital and a few other beautiful places. Tonight Mr. Groom and I will plan out our woredrobe (that spelling looks wrong, but my computer is not correcting me) - I'd like to match, he doesn't... so we'll se how this goes, maybe we'll compromise and do a little of both :)

Today's inspiration comes from Mr. Groom. I'm so busy planning small details, that I forget to stop and take a moment to reflect on what I'm really planning for. I'm planning a celebration of love. I'm taking my moment now to stop and smell the roses. I could not be happier with my prince charming. I'm so lucky to have fallen in love with someone who completes me and makes me whole. Even if all my details don't pan out to my picture perfect wedding, I am 100% confident that I will still wake up the next morning happy and delighted with the person I will be sharing the rest of my life with and I think that is really what is important. Our wedding day is about us, about our family and joining two lives together. I'm thankful he inspires me and through all the chaos, he brings me back to reality. I'm so grateful to have found him and for the memories we share together. It is so exciting that we are starting this new chapter in our lives. I hope Mr. Groom inspires you today as well, stop and smell the roses and take the time to appreciate the important things in your life as well.
I never thought my honeymoon would be such a big decision. It has probably been the hardest decision Mr. Groom and I have faced as far as wedding planning goes. Do we want to go to Europe and sight see and create new memories together or stay at an all inclusive resort and pamper ourselves for a week? I think we are leaning more towards all inclusive pampering. So now the hard decision is what resort, what island, what amenities? As of right now our top choice is St. Lucia and to stay at a Sandals Resort. Why St. Lucia...... why not??? Soaking in the sunshine, massages, private pool, breakfast in bed, snorkeling, volcanos... you name it, St. Lucia's got it! so what are the downfalls? I'll have to get back to you on that :)
After speaking with a sandals representative and looking online at cheapcarribean.com, I think I found out what is wrong w/ st. Lucia. It's expensive! For the same price, we could travel around Greece, go to Tahiti or put a down payment on a house. Now we have to figure out what's more important, the location or the amenities? I'm pretty sure we want both so I have my homework set out for me this wekend.

Although I have multiple themes for my wedding, today I am focusing on the French theme. There are so many awesome blogs in cyber space focused on french weddings, parties, favors and more. The one blog I enjoyed the most was Parisian Party. How can you not love a french themed event: Champagne, romance, exquisite desserts, l'amour, chandeliers, pink & black, my list goes on. Since my wedding has six different themes, I must hand pick certain elements of the french part. Well one way I thought of, was instead of having a seven tiered cake that costs hundreds of dollars, I'm going to have a french dessert buffet table. From pastries to caramels, cream puffs and bons bons, my favorite french desserts will be available to my guests. I couldn't be happier with this decision to not have a traditional wedding cake. I haven't made up my mind on the setup of the the table, but I found some images that will help create the look:

I'm trying to finalize my guest list and my save the date cards. I have way too many people on my guest list so i'm giving everyone a numerical importance (1-high importance, and so on). Its such a hard decision. I wish I could invite everyone, but then the cost just keeps rising. I also want my wedding to be intimate enough that I can say hello to everyone and personally thank them for coming.
My save the date cards are near completion. I'm really liking the way they are turning out and I feel accomplished that I did them myself. I may not be the craftiest of person, but I'm trying. I'm trying to be a DIY bride (well on some things).
Things I need to complete this week: finalize guest list, finalize groomsmen, mail bridesmaids gifts, engagement photos. I think it's going to be a busy week!

Today's Friday Inspiration comes from color me pretty. The pinks are gorgeous and I love the color of the roses.
I'm excited for this weekend because I get to start handing out my bridesmaid packages. I've created a package for all my bridesmaids to give them a glimpse of my wedding. I've included one item for each theme in my wedding (approx 6 gifts). There is also a picture of the bridesmaid dress included in the package, which i've used the help of Martha Stewart.
These cute eyelet cards were a great backdrop for my bridesmaids dresses. I put the designer name, style, price, and location where they need to purchase the dress on the back of the card. I am incorporating just a hint of pearl into my color scheme, so I attached a miniature pearl sticker to the back of the envelope. It was a really fun project and I can't wait to send them out.

Last night I was in an organizing mood, so I got out my lap top and made an outline of everything, and I mean everything, that will go into our wedding. It was really nice to lay out all the details and made me realize I can relax a bit because a lot of the details were already taken care of. The best part of putting it into an outline form, was the fact that Mr. Groom sat down and did a little planning with me. I think it made all the details a little less chaotic and less overwhelming and we were able to hash out some more planning like linens & floral arrangements. Although I have a checklist on theknot.com, the outline was a little different because i could fill in the blanks. I do like checking off the list online, but now I can be even more anal and do both! hooray for lists!
I'm very excited to start blogging about my adventures in wedding planning land. I probably should have started earlier since a lot of my details are already planned, but hey, its never too late. I want to thank a couple bloggers who inspired me to start blogging: Snippet & Ink and The Perfect Palette. Both gave me wonderful ideas for my own planning as well as inspiration to put my ideas down on paper (or virtual paper).
So why the name Pgreen Amour? Well I'm french and amour in french means love and the colors of my wedding are pink and green. You will start to get an idea of the color scheme as I start to describe more of the wedding details.
